2022 DEFINE SKILLS PROGRAM
DEFINE Initiative is implementing the Business Skills Boost for Women Entrepreneurs Program (2022 DEFINE SKILLS Program) to provide complimentary training to women-led micro and small and medium enterprises and solo female entrepreneurs (collectively Women-led MSEs) in Papua New Guinea to boost their business skills and accelerate their business development and growth.
The expected outcomes of the 2022 DEFINE SKILLS Program include the following:
- the adoption of better business practices to enhance business skills and capabilities for the Women-led MSEs;
- the transition into the emerging digital economy, including using social media to market their goods and digital interaction with customers and suppliers; and
- the graduation of MSEs from the informal sector to the formal sector.

About the Sign-on Sessions
The sign-on sessions were held on 13 and 15 July 2022. The sign-on sessions provided prospective women participants with (a) additional information on the 2022 DEFINE SKILLS Program; (b) one-on-one interaction with the proponents of the 2022 DEFINE SKILLS Program; and (c) an opportunity to sign-on and get onboarded to the complimentary program.

About the Workshops
The 2022 DEFINE SKILLS workshops will be conducted in 3 different streams, being the foundation stream, intermediate stream and advanced stream to cater for Women-led MSEs at different stages of their business and knowledge lifecycles. The 2022 DEFINE SKILLS Program will conclude with a demonstration day for selected Women-led MSEs.
Foundation Stream
Workshops will be held on 30 August - 2 September 2022; 7 - 9 September 2022 & 27 - 29 September 2022.
Intermediate Stream
This workshop will be held on 4 - 6 October 2022.
Advanced Stream
This workshop will be held on 11 - 13 October 2022.
Demonstration Day
The scheduled date will be advised in due course.
To apply for the complimentary 2022 DEFINE SKILLS Program, prospective women entrepreneurs should complete the application form. We recommend women entrepreneurs to register as soon as possible given there are limited seats available for each stream. We will be in touch with you once we have shortlisted the list of participants for each stream.
DEFINE INITIATIVE
DEFINE Initiative has designed and is implementing the 2022 DEFINE SKILLS Program as part of its broader agenda of initiatives, including as part of its capacity building and technical assistance activities.
DEFINE Initiative is a private-sector collaboration by the Papua New Guinea National Stock Exchange, PNG Digital ICT Cluster and Unkapt.
The objective of DEFINE Initiative is to contribute to the development of financial markets, products and services for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)-aligned Enterprises in the Pacific Islands, with the ultimate goal of diversifying their sources of capital and enhancing access to finance.
